Special court judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain sentenced the former prime minister and former foreign minister
In the cipher case, Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi were sentenced to 10 and 10 years in prison respectively. PTI leader's 342 statement was also recorded in the courtroom before the verdict. According to media reports, special court judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain sentenced the former prime minister and former foreign minister, in which both Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi were sentenced to 10 and 10 years in prison, respectively, in Diyala Jail of Islamabad/Rawalpindi. The Cipher case hearing was held, on this occasion Prosecutor Zulfiqar Naqvi and his team along with State Council lawyers also appeared in the court while Imran Khan's sisters and Shah Mahmood Qureshi's family were also present in the court.
It has been reported that Special Court judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain said that 'Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi should come to the rostrum', on which the former prime minister said that 'I am coming quickly, you have to stay in jail. Hai', when Imran Khan reached the rostrum, the judge asked him that 'Will you sign the statement of 342?', to which Imran Khan said 'Tell me first what is it?
Judge Abu Al-Hasanat Zul-Qarnain told that 'I am giving you an opportunity to answer the questions keeping in mind the law', after hearing this, the PTI leader said that 'I want to write my own answer', on which the judge He said, 'It is good that you write your answer yourself, if you want to tell the court something, then tell it', Imran Khan replied that 'Yes, I want to tell the court something'.
It has been learned that the special court asked the former prime minister that 'do you have the cipher?' Imran Khan said that 'the cipher was not with me but in my office and I am not responsible for the security there but there. But the military secretary and the principal secretary are also there', with Imran Khan coming down from the rostrum, the court called Shah Mehmood Qureshi and sentenced both of them on the rostrum, no further cross-examination and the final arguments of the parties. It did not happen because the judges of the special court got up and left after giving a short verdict.
