Election Commission's Notice of Alleged Buying and Selling of Votes

 Atta Tarar and PPP candidate were summoned with evidence





The Election Commission of Pakistan has taken notice of the alleged buying and selling of votes in Lahore. According to the details, Election Commission has issued notices to Attaullah Tarar, candidate of Muslim League-N and Mian Misbahur Rehman, candidate of Provincial Assembly of People's Party in NA-127 Lahore, for violating the code of conduct. On the orders of Punjab, notices have been issued to Attaullah Tarar and Mian Misbah-ur-Rehman for violating the code of conduct. Both candidates were summoned on February 5 with documentary evidence.

Apart from this, the Election Commission has issued warning notices to several candidates for violating the election code of conduct. Warning notices issued.

Spokesman ECP says that a notice was issued to Jahangir Tareen candidate from NA 155 Lodhran for carrying out development work in the constituency, District Monitoring Officer Okara issued a notice to candidate Malik Ghazanfar from PP 188 for displaying weapons. As per PP 208, a warning was issued to candidate Muhammad Tayyab from Khanewal for advertising material against the rules, notices were also issued to 4 candidates from different constituencies of Khanewal.

The spokesman further said that explanation has also been sought from the candidate Ali Waqas Hanjara of PP 232 Wahari, Syed Muhammad Asghar of NA 160 Bahawalnagar, Inam Bari Lalika of PP 238, while 9 candidates of different constituencies of Bahawalpur have also been asked for violation of the code of conduct. Notices were issued for violation.
