Ahead of the series against India, Afghanistan suffered a major setback. Spinner Rashid Khan is out of T20.
Captain Ibrahim Zadra has confirmed on the eve of the first match in Mohali that Rashid Khan will miss the three-match T20I series against India.
Rashid Khan is yet to recover from back surgery but is traveling with the team.
Zadran said in the press conference that Rashid Khan is not fully fit but he is traveling with us. He is working on his rehabilitation and we are hoping that he will be fit as soon as possible, we will miss him in this series.
Virat Kohli out of first T20I against Afghanistan
He said his team will need to improve their batting as the hosts have recalled players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli who will be eager to prove their worth in the T20 World Cup.
"We have quality spinners and seamers but we need to improve our batting skills. We will try to be more aggressive in that department," he said.
