Chairman PTI appeals to the Supreme Court against the cipher case

Islamabad: Former Prime Minister and Chairman PTI, imprisoned in Adiala Jail, has approached the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the cipher case.





Chairman PTI filed a petition for dismissal of the case in the Supreme Court, requesting that the cipher case be dismissed. The federal government, FIA and the investigating officer have been made parties to the petition.

Former Prime Minister's lawyer Intar Hussain Panjutha said that the application has been numbered without any objection.

Yesterday, the Islamabad High Court had issued an order to complete the trial of the cipher case in four weeks. In the written order issued by Chief Justice Amir Farooq, he said that jail trial does not mean in-camera hearing but open trial.

In the court decision, it was said that keeping security in mind, ensure that as many people as possible can see the court proceedings, the jail authorities should ensure that no words are spoken about the honor and dignity of the accused.

According to the written decision, an open and transparent trial should be ensured in all respects, Chairman PTI is the head of a major political party, the jail trial is taking place due to security reasons.

Earlier, the PTI chairman had challenged the trial court's impeachment proceedings in the cipher case in the Supreme Court. A petition was filed on behalf of the former prime minister through lawyer Hamid Khan, in which it was said that the petitioner is being subjected to political revenge by the opponents, the scope of political revenge extended to the political party and allies of the petitioner. given.
