Pakistan team can do anything in the World Cup, former English captains talk about the mega event

Babar Azam number one batsman, Fakhar Zaman are definitely out of form but are very important in the top order, the worry for Pakistan is that their spinners are not in form: Nasir Hussain

Former England cricketers Nasir Hussain and Ann Morgan assess Pakistan's prospects for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup. He provided insight into the team's strengths and areas that require attention as they prepare for the much-anticipated tournament. During a discussion on Sky Sports, Nasir Hussain began by highlighting Pakistan's impressive bowling skills, particularly the powerful attack comprising Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah.

He acknowledged the batting skills of key players including captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan and emphasized on their consistency in scoring runs throughout the innings.

However, Nasir Hussain expressed concern about Pakistan's spin department while mentioning Shadab Khan's recent struggles. Nasir Hussain said that Shaheen Shah Afridi is fit now, Haris Rauf was injured in the last match of the Asia Cup, it is being said about Naseem Shah that he may not be ready for the first match of the World Cup, this is a serious bowling attack. And you know Babar Azam is the number one batsman, we know what he can do, along with Babar, Rizwan is a regular run-scorer who runs the entire innings."

Nasir Hussain added, "The only thing Pakistan lack is that their spinners are a bit out of form. Shadab Khan has not been that good recently. In the Cup you want the spin bowlers to be in form. But the thing with Pakistan is that they are a big ICC event big team. They will play very badly one day and play great cricket the next.

Ann Morgan, on the other hand, agreed with Nasir Hussain's assessment and expressed his confidence in Pakistan's performance at key moments in the tournament. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of lower-order contributions. I think they have quite good players, Pakistan has to decide not to do the same in Sri Lanka, apparently Pakistan cricket team is a balanced side.

Morgan stressed the importance of building a balanced and flexible team, ready to take advantage of the opportunities presented during the World Cup. "My biggest concern for Pakistan is the fitness of their seamers. I think Shadab does a pretty good job with his wrist spin. In ICC events, he is always a bowling batsman," he said. Faheem Ashraf's fitness level, his ability to play 7 or 8 overs is also important. Your top order doesn't always work, you need a balanced side that puts the team in a position to take risks.
