Pak-Iran agree to send back ambassador mutually

Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian will visit Pakistan on January 29 at the invitation of the Foreign Minister.






The joint press statement of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran has been released. The Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran agreed to mutually send back their ambassadors after a telephone conversation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that the ambassadors of both countries can return to their posts by January 26, 2024. However, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amir Abdullahian will visit Pakistan on January 29, 2024.


The Caretaker Prime Minister entrusted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the mission of restoring relations with Iran in the light of the decisions of the Cabinet and the National Security Committee. According to government sources, the Iranian government was also informed about the decisions of the National Security Committee and the Federal Cabinet.

Jalil Abbas Jilani was given the task to fully restore contacts and diplomatic relations, soon the ambassadors of both countries will resume their respective responsibilities, high-level contacts between Pakistan and Iran will also continue, a new method for solving security problems. A car will be built, a committee of top officials of defense, interior and foreign affairs of both countries will be formed, the sources said, which was proposed by Iran to restore relations to which Pakistan has responded positively.

To end the tension, the top officials of the two countries will also make mutual visits. The National Security Committee was informed about the desire of the Iranian Foreign Minister to visit Pakistan. Meanwhile, commercial flights between Iran and Pakistan have been restored. Air traffic has also improved after the normalization of relations between Pakistan and Iran. According to aviation sources, the flight of Iran's Mahan Airlines landed at Lahore Airport from Tehran. More than 100 passengers have been transported from Tehran to Lahore Airport in the flight. Flights between the two countries were suspended due to Pakistan-Iran tensions.
