Former cricketers expressed hope to watch the World Cup final between Pakistan and India

Muralidharan, Karthik, Gayle are hopeful for Pak-India World Cup final, Waqar Younis declared host India and defending champion England as favorites for the final.

With the World Cup around the corner, cricket pundits around the world are engaged in collaborative discussions to predict the likely winners and underdogs of the tournament. India and Pakistan will compete against each other on October 14 in Ahmedabad. However, former cricketers like Dinesh Karthik, Chris Gayle, and Muttiah Muralitharan are hoping to meet the arch-rivals in the ICC World Cup final as well.

"Hopefully it will be an India-Pakistan final," Chris Gayle said in a recent chat with Star Sports. "I would love to see India and Pakistan in the final," said Muralitharan. Dinesh Karthik said that "I would love to see the final between India and Pakistan".

However, during these predictions, former Pakistan fast bowler Waqar Younis deviated from the Pakistan-India final narrative.

Instead, they named defending champions England and hosts India as their expected finalists.

Remember that the tournament will start from October 5, the final match will be held on November 19 in Ahmedabad.
